The Itemised Pricing Effect

Practical Sales Training™  > How To ConvertThe Itemised Pricing Effect

What is it?

The Itemised Pricing Effect is all about splitting out the component parts of how you charge for your offering.

Why does it work?

It works because it helps your buyer to see and understand “what they get for the money” as well as making it very clear just how much time/effort/resource goes into delivering your offering. It’s similar to The Abundance Effect where we list out (but don’t price) all of the “things” that your offering provides to give a sense of abundance.

How can you use it?

Depending on your offering, could you list out the parts, labour, time, or any other resource that goes in to your offering. By pricing things separately, your buyer is less likely to have complaints about being expensive as you are itemising precisely everything they will get.

Example:

A web design agency offers a fixed-price package at £2,500.

Instead of just listing “Website Design,” they break it down:

  • Strategy and Planning Session – £300

  • Custom Homepage Design – £600

  • Up to 5 Inner Pages – £750

  • Mobile Optimisation – £250

  • SEO Setup – £300

  • 2 Rounds of Revisions – £200

  • Launch and Handover – £100

Why it works:
Itemising the value justifies the total price. It helps the buyer understand exactly where their money is going and reduces the chance of price objections. It also positions the offer as structured and professional, not just a “flat fee.”
