The Handwritten Effect

Understand Your Buyer > How To Get Attention > The Handwritten Effect

What is it?

The Handwritten Effect is all about using handwriting to seize attention.

Why does it work?

It works because it’s different. Very few companies and individuals use handwriting because it takes “too much” time and “too much” attention versus the alternative of print/digital communications. In a world of printed envelopes and email, having something “old fashioned” like a handwritten envelope or note can’t fail to seize attention.

How can you use it?

Handwriting can be used in a number of ways to seize attention such as:

  1. Send a handwritten note or thank you to a client, colleague or friend.
  2. Hand write your Christmas cards (instead of printing your signature…)
  3. Hand write envelopes for outreach as a means of standing out.

The point here is to consider how can you demonstrate that you have spent care and attention, rather than simply “gone through the motions”.
