The Classic / Original Effect is all about focussing on the core things that you offer, ensuring that however your offering may change, your buyers can still access the original version where everything started.

Why does it work?

It works because although offerings adapt over time to be more relevant in the marketplace, there will always be a need for the first things that you offer – the reason you are in business. Retaining a “Classic” or “original” version of your offering ensures that as things change you don’t alienate your core / early buyers by becoming irrelevant.


How can you use it?

Depending on your offering, where did everything begin for you? What’s the reason your business, product or service was created? If your offering has adapted over time, how could you ensure buyers know that the original thing you are known for is still on offer?

By having a “classic” or “original” version or your offering, it’s also possible to tap into the history of your offering or nostalgia overall.
