What is it?
Knowing what to talk about in your marketing and social media posts can be daunting. As well as being CLEAR, your content needs to engage, excite or intrigue in some way to be effective.
Why does it work?
It works because your audience are always thinking about what’s in it for them. Being engaging, inspiring and intriguing is about staying tuned in to what your clients care about – not what you care about.
Is it engaging? Would your client care about it? Your clients care about themselves, their needs and the challenges they face.
Is it inspiring? Would your client want to aspire to it? Are you painting a positive future image to excite the client and selling the destination, not the journey?
Is it intriguing? Are you posing a thought-provoking question or creating an information gap to encourage your reader to close that gap and find out more?
How can you use it?
The next time you post on social media or advertise in any way consider first that your communication is CLEAR and then ask does it meet one of these three criteria? If it doesn’t, it’s unlikely to get the response you would hope for. Remember to stay focused on your client, what they want, need and care about.
