What is it?

An Ambigram is a written word that looks the same even if it’s upside down.

Why does it work?

It works because it catches the eye – especially if the logo is animated or used on the packaging – the name is always legible and always makes sense.

How can you use it?

Creating an Ambigram is quite difficult – you will need to employ the services of a creative designer to find the right word/font to create the effect.

Hypothetical Ambigram Example:

A luxury event company uses the tagline “Always WOW” and designs it as an ambigram, so when you flip it upside down, the word WOW still reads the same.

They print it on event invitations and signage, making it a visual conversation starter. Guests often take pictures of the logo, which spreads on social media, boosting the company’s brand recognition.
