100 Ways to Sell More:
Lead With Value.
“To deserve, you have to serve.”
Have you ever been chased by a salesperson to see if you are ready to buy yet? “Have you had a chance to look at my proposal?” “Just checking in to see how you are”.
These people just. don’t. get it.
Selling is about serving and leading with value.
Yes, the end result is making money and getting paid, but this is so much easier if you are providing value and always putting that person’s needs (and not just the sale) first.
Treat your clients and prospects as people, care for them and their needs before you care about making money from them.
For every client interaction you have today, try to provide that person with at least one piece of value regardless of where they are in your sales cycle.
You could try:
- A connection- who do you know that could help?
- An article – seen anything industry-specific they may benefit from?
- A book recommendation – have you read a book this person may appreciate?
- Support – like or share a post, sponsor their run, sign up to their mailing list- how could you support them in their endeavours?
Whatever it is, it needs to make the person feel grateful and realise that you have taken a moment to think about them and not just in the context of taking their money and just making the sale.
